Everything You Need To Know About DJ Topedo & Co's Lighting Options
We firmly believe lighting is essential to encourage a fun, lively dancing atmosphere and to transform your venue from ordinary to spectacular! Our lighting can make an incredible impact on the overall look and feel of your event space as well as on the mood of your guests, all for a reasonable price.
There are five lighting options that we offer at DJ Topedo & Company
1) T-Bar Dance Floor Lighting
2) LED Pixel Tube Lighting (DJ Topedo Exclusive)
3) Uplighting
4) Intelligent Lighting
5) Hybrid Intelligent Lighting (DJ Topedo Exclusive)
What are the differences between the lighting options?
T-Bar Dance Floor Lighting is a bar of lights set up behind the DJ booth and directed to the dance-floor area only. These lights are included in our Bronze & Silver DJ Packages by default because they help create a lively, exciting environment on the dance floor. Please note: these lights will not be in sync with the dance music; instead, they change colors/patterns in auto mode.
LED Pixel Tube Lighting is a modern and stylish approach to dance floor lighting. 4 Silm LED Pixel Tubes are set up behind and beside the DJ booth and directed to the dance floor area. The tubes are synchronized to provide eye-catching visual designs, all while illuminating your dance floor with a soft wash effect! LED Pixel Tube Lighting is in the Gold DJ Package by default because it significantly impacts the dance floor environment.
Uplighting is one of our popular lighting effects created by strategically placing lighting fixtures around venue perimeters and pointing them upwards. This phenomenon results in the "uplighting" effect on the walls and can be used to highlight architectural features at your venue and to set the mood for the occasion.
We've been to hundreds of weddings and can tell you- uplighting will 100% enhance your experience and make your reception space feel more fun!
One significant benefit is that our uplighting is fully customizable! You can pick virtually any color for dinner, and then we can 'live control' the lights during dancing. 'Live control' means we can change the colors and patterns of the lights utilizing DMX lighting software to match your dance music. We can also program the lights in advance to make various patterns at certain moments throughout the night.
For most weddings, uplighting should be mandatory because the lights have the power to take reception experiences to the next level!
Intelligent lighting refers to our highly sought-after enhanced lighting add-on featuring 360-degree moving spotlights on glowing totems. Intelligent lights have automated and mechanical abilities far exceeding our standard dance floor lighting.
There are four main ways we can use intelligent lights. At most weddings, we use them to...
create a live, hype atmosphere for your reception introductions
provide a spotlight during your first dance
project elegant patterns during dinner
change live to the music during dancing
We 'live control' our intelligent lights, meaning they will move with the dance music utilizing our DMX lighting software. In addition, we program our intelligent lights ahead of time to adapt to various venue spaces.
If you're looking to enhance the visual aspect of your wedding reception, intelligent lighting is a must!
Hybrid Intelligent Lighting (DJ Topedo Exclusive) refers to DJ Topedo’s more advanced, high tech intelligent lights. The Hybrid Intelligent lights have all the same capabilities as our standard intelligent lights, but they can also do “wash” and “beam” effects too.
How do I determine my lighting budget?
When it comes to budgeting for lighting in your wedding entertainment setup, the costs can vary significantly based on factors like venue size, desired ambiance, and your chosen lighting equipment. Here's a breakdown to help you plan effectively:
Essential Lighting: If you're aiming for foundational lighting elements such as dance floor lighting and uplighting, anticipate a budget ranging from $500 to $1000 or more. The final cost depends on factors such as the quantity of lights required and the DJ package selected.
Mid-Range Lighting Package: This tier encompasses more sophisticated fixtures like intelligent lights and enhanced uplighting. Budget between $1000 to $2000 or beyond for a mid-range lighting setup tailored to your needs.
